Streetsboro sprinter shines at Jackson Twilight Meet in Massillon


The Streetsboro boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Jackson Twilight Meet May 8 at Rick Neitzelt Stadium in Massillon.

The boys finished eighth out of 21 teams with 37 points.

Berea-Midpark won the competition with 82 points and Wadsworth (60.5) and Nordonia (58) placed second and third, respectively.

The girls captured ninth with 34 points. North Canton Hoover won the 18-team event with 95.5 points and Nordonia (61) and Brunswick (57) finished second and third.

The following Streetsboro athletes placed in the top eight:


• 100 meters: Dakari Carter, first, 10.94 seconds; and Prince Franklin, eighth, 11.5

• 200: Carter, first, 22.67; and Franklin, sixth, 23.58

• 400 relay: Victor Glass, Carter, Franklin and Parris Burton, third, 43.69

• 800 relay: Tremaine Wilson, Franklin, Carter and Daniel Sapp, fourth, 1:29.85

• Shot put: Nick Fazio, seventh, 49 feet


• 100: Marra Woods, sixth, 27.48

• 100 hurdles: Destiny King, third, 16.17

• 400 relay: King, Delisha McMiller, Kailyn Williams and Woods, fourth, 50.61

• 800 relay: Williams, McMiller, Savannah Nevels and Woods, third, 1:47.99

• High jump: Marra Woods, second, 5 feet

• Long jump: King, third, 16-7
