The Streetsboro boys track and field team finished fourth with 40 points at the 39-team Region 5 Austintown-Fitch regional meet May 31.
Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy easily won the title with 99 points and Akron St. Vincent-St. Mary (59) and Mentor Lake Catholic (46) placed second and third, respectively.
The girls finished ninth out of 42 teams with 26 points. SVSM won with 53 points and Girard (43) and Cleveland Heights Beaumont (41) placed second and third, respectively.
Dakari Carter advanced to the Division II state meet after placing first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times of 10.96 seconds and 21.97, respectively.
The top four individuals in each event and the top four relay teams qualified for the Division II state meet, which is scheduled for June 6 and 7 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus.
Carter also joined Myron Jones, Prince Franklin and Daniel Sapp on the second-place 800 relay team (1:29.41) and Victor Glass, Parris Burton and Franklin on the fourth-place 400 relay team (43.32).
Destiny King advanced with a second-place time of 15.26 seconds in the 100 hurdles. She also advanced in the long jump with a fourth-place leap of 16 feet, 5 inches.
She also joined Kailyn Williams, Savannah Nevels and Marra Woods on the sixth-place 400 relay team (50.02).
Sapp added a fifth in the 400 (49.5) and Franklin finished sixth in the 200 (22.96).
The girls 800 relay team of Williams, Delisha McMiller, Nevels and Woods placed seventh (1:45.51). Woods also qualified in the high jump with a second-place leap of 5-2 May 29.
