Picnic supper offered to Soap Box Derby racers

Published:

The National Super Kids Classic is a Soap Box Derby race for physically and mentally challenged children from around the world.

Local racers participate throughout the year. Winners from each local race advance to the world famous Derby Downs Track in Akron for the world championship, which takes place in conjunction with the First Energy All-American Soap Box Derby Race.

The six finalists race in the Soap Box Derby. This is the third year that Gleaner Life Insurance Summit Arbor 765 has been a car sponsor and involved with serving a picnic supper to racers and their families.

This event is set to take place July 25. Summit Arbor 765 is affiliated with Gleaner Life Insurance Society, a fraternal benefit life insurance society.

The organization meets on the second Wednesday of each month. To become a Gleaner member, contact Dianne Winnen Oldenburg at DMWinnen@aol.com or 330-786-2147.
