'Fall Ball' coming

Bo Jackson's Elite Sports and Cangelosi Baseball are expected to present the BJES High School Baseball "Fall Ball" Northeast Ohio 2014.

The focus of Fall Ball is to provide skill training during the week and games on the weekends with a Major League Baseball instructional league approach.

Fall Ball is a six-week segment that is scheduled to run Sept. 2 through Oct. 12.

All participants of BJES Fall Ball are eligible to be selected to play for BJES Northeast Ohio in the Perfect Game event, which is scheduled for Oct. 4 and 5 in Lakepoint, Ga., and ultimately for Cangelosi Baseball, which is set for Oct. 24-26 in Jupiter, Fla.

programs offered

Hudson Community Education and Recreation and Jump Start Sports are planning to run several sports programs in the fall.

Hummingbirds Soccer is an instructional and recreational league for children, ages 3 to 6. Flag football is being offered for children entering grades kindergarten through four.

There are three fall baseball programs being offered: Hudson T-Birds T-Ball for 3- and 4-year olds, Rookie League Introductory Coach Pitch Baseball for 5- and 6-year olds and Major League Rec Baseball for 7- and 8-year olds.

The Hummingbirds soccer program is set to take place at Beachwood Middle School (2860 Richmond Road) and all other programs are set to take place at Hilltop Elementary School (24524 Hilltop Drive).
